Hello, my name is Dagmar. I am 21 years old and I'm graduating in Child and Youth Care. I've always been very interested in children and youth. I wanted to know how to help them and work with them. In my first year of college I had an internship in a school. My second internship was in an organisation where children and youth are living, because of several reasons they can't live and stay with their own parents. For my third and last internship of my studies I went to Sri Lanka. I've worked for the organisation Child Action Lanka in Sri Lanka for three months. 

Child Action Lanka (CAL) is an organisation where they want a fair treatment and fair chances for each child. They provide food, education and child protection for each child, no matter what the circumstances are. Their statement is: "A future of well-being, value and equality for every child, everywhere." I worked at the center in Galle where the second highest under age crimes were reported between 2008 and 2009. Because Galle is a popular touristic destination, there is a higher risk of child abuse, corruption and trafficking. That is why CAL wanted to locate there and that's why I decided I wanted to work about the subject child sexual abuse for Child Action Lanka in Sri Lanka.
